Claranet SOHO Gamer Broadband

The internet service provider, Claranet SOHO have released a new service created “for gamers, by gamers.”
The “Gamer Broadband” packages allow gamers to forget about latency issues and enjoy games to their fullest even at peak times during the day.
Claranet SOHO have traditionally provided internet services for small businesses and this means that from the hours of 6PM to 8AM there is very little activity on the Claranet network, which is why the company have decided to allow gamers to use the network in these peak gaming hours of the day.

Claranet SOHO can guarantee fast ping times, no traffic shaping and unlimited usage of the network during off-peak times, depending on your area you could be reaching internet speeds of 24Mb/s download and 1Mb/s upload on the Claranet network.

The company are currently offering two different gamer broadband packages to purchase:

The part-time gamer package – £12.99 per month, unlimited evening and weekend downloads and a peak time (8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday) download limit of 5GB per month

The price for this package is based on a 24 month contract which includes a free install, if you would rather commit to only 12 months, it will cost you £14.99 per month with a £50 install charge

and

The hardcore gamer package – £32.99 per month, unlimited downloads and its ideal for heavy bandwidth users.

The price for this package is based on a 24 month contract which includes a free install, if you would rather commit to only 12 months, it will cost you £34.99 per month with a £50 install charge.

A fair usage policy applies to the Gamer Broadband packages.
Claranet SOHO will provide Gamer Broadband owners with a Zyxel wireless router when installing the service, however an existing phone line is required for installation. Internet speed will depend on the quality of the line.

When speaking of the new gamer packages, Jason Keen – the director at Claranet SOHO said, “As gamers ourselves we understand the frustration of having to deal with reduced bandwidth just when you need it the most” he then went on to say, “We’ve seen first-hand the benefits of using a business grade service during peak hours, and wanted to pass on that experience to the gaming audience.”
