Ok, so the trailer and poster  might not tell the Whoniverse much (Other than the fact that Captain Jack appears to be a long way from Cardiff and the series tagline is Death Is Not An Option) about the upcoming fourth instalment of the Torchwood series Torchwood: Miracle Day, as the producers are trying to keep as much of it under wraps until closer to its US premiere on Friday July 8th.

Set to run for 10 episodes and be the first series to air in America before the UK, Torchwood: Miracle Day’s plot follows C.I.A Agent Rex Matheson as he rushes to discover the reason behind the human races sudden inability to die. People are still getting sick and hurt but can no longer die causing a massive population boom over night! With the world’s resources stretching and estimation that it will be a mere 4 months until humanity is no longer ‘viable’. During his investigations the mysterious ‘Torchwood’ continues to surface, eventually leading him to a small secret organisation over in the UK.

It has been announced that John Barrowman and Eve Myles will be returning as Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen and that this new series will see and influx of new and diverse characters.
Thanks to a three way partnership between BBC Cymru Whales, BBC Worldwide and US premium network Starz Entertainment, Torchwood: Miracle Day promises to be bigger and more extravagant that previous series with new locations in the US and across the world. Fans will be pleased to know that the genius of Torchwood Creator Russell T Davies will still be very much at the helm. At the announcement of the launch BBC commissioner Ben Stephenson said that ‘We have a long history of working with many U.S. networks but it is incredibly exciting to be working with Starz for the first time, as well as to be reunited with the best of British in Russell, Jane and Julie. Torchwood will burst back onto the screen with a shocking and moving story with global stakes and locations that will make it feel bigger and bolder than ever’.

With the greatly anticipated new series of Doctor Who ready to air this month needless to say Whomania is by no means slowing down and UK fans will no doubt be awaiting further details on Torchwood: Miracle Day With bated breath.
