Street Fighter X Tekken gets increasingly awesome

Street Fighter X Tekken

It has been almost a year since Namco and Capcom announced that they were working on a crossover between the

Street Fighter and Tekken series at the Tokyo Game Show. Flash forward and its eight months later and we are at last treated to the most glorious and exciting fighting game footage since Marvel vs Capcom 3 was first shown.

Street Fighter X Tekken is Capcom‘s take on a crossover of the two series, it is a 2D fighter featuring a similar art style as that of Street Fighter IV. The roster consists of dozens of characters both old and new including Ryu, Ken, Chun li, Guile, Kazuya, Nina, King, Marduk and Bob, plus in addition to these, Evil Ryu and Jin are both hinted at in the new trailer posted below.

Whilst SFxT features a similar fighting style to that of Street Fighter IV, the game is built around real-time tag battling as players switch between two characters strategically to extend combos – an element seen in older fighting titles such as Tekken Tag Tournament. All online modes from Super Street Fighter IV will be present, plus some extra surprises that are currently unknown.

Unfortunately no date has been announced for Street Fighter X Tekken yet, but you can whet your appetite for the game even further by watching the new trailers posted below. To further follow the game, you can also visit the newly opened official website by clicking here.
