Review uDraw and Spongebob Squigglepants

Nintendo have always been at the forefront of innovative game hardware, with the Wii fit board and the Wii motion plus controller to name a few, now the uDraw game tablet promises to add another level of interactivity to gaming. Simply clip your Wii remote into the special dock on the side of the tablet and you are ready to tilt, flick and scribble your way to a whole new dimension of gaming. Similar to graphics tablets used with art programmes on computers, the uDraw tablet features a 4×6 work area and an interactive stylus and it even comes with games, uDraw Studio, Pictionary and Dood’s Big Adventure. However the uDraw tablet is not just an art tool and with games like Spongebob Squigglepants utilising the hardware’s unique attributes the uDraw tablet is bound to be a hit with kids and adults alike.

Spongebob Squigglepants is a seriously addictive fast paced collection of over 100 unique nanogames set across 6 hyper real under sea worlds. With the fast paced nature of the game it takes a few tries to get into the swing of things but soon you will find yourself frantically scribbling, flicking, tilting and tapping the uDraw tablet as you battle onwards to unlock more content and more exclusive never before seen Spongebob artwork straight out of the Nickelodeon vault. It’s safe to say that Spongebob has an appeal that bridges age gaps and Spongebob Squigglepants is a game that would appeal to all ages and even features a unique area where you can use basic art tools along with Spongebob stamps to create your own art work. With the uDraw’s SD card support you can save your masterpiece and upload it to the computer to print out, keep or share with the whole world.

Playing the game is seriously addictive, all the nanogames range in complexity and a few are a little tricky to figure out first time. As you race through them at an increasing speed you collect tokens and unlock more content. It is easy to find yourself losing track of time and can as a result be more than a little reluctant to hand over the uDraw to someone else for a turn (I know I did). Still like most games for the Wii, Spongebob Squigglepants is interactive, quirky and most importantly fun!

The uDraw game tablet and Spongebob Squigglepants game are available now.
