K-pop Comes To Europe!

The Hallyu (South Korean culture) wave has been gaining popularity over the past decade, and is continuing to spread rapidly via online sources such as YouTube. K-drama (Korean drama) and K-pop (Korean pop) in particular have become something of a global trend, and their impact on the Western world is finally coming to light.

The active French fan base has gained recognition through a club called ‘Korean Connection,’ visiting places associated with the K-pop industry such as the set for Music Bank and the premises of the record label S.M. Entertainment, home to several famous bands. Their dedication has not gone unnoticed; it has recently been revealed that S.M. Entertainment will be coming to Paris this year as part of their SMTOWN LIVE tour – the first time a Korean entertainment company has held a collaborative concert in Europe.

The tour will feature some of the company’s (and indeed K-Pop’s) most well-known bands, including SNSD aka Girl’s Generation (pictured), Super Junior, TVXQ , SHINee and f(x). The concert will be held at the ‘Le Zenith De Paris’ venue on June 10th.
