New Green Lantern Trailer, TV Spots and Banner

Warner Bros. are starting to go all out in their marketing for Green Lantern, revealing a new trailer, TV spots, and also the above banner.

The new banner features the entire Green Lantern Corps led by Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), and also cleverly hints at a sense of foreboding; note that every character has their ring on their right hand, apart from one.

The new trailer shows Hal receiving some punishment from mentors, Sinestro (Mark Strong) and Kilowog (voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan), while imagining weapons such as a sword and a minigun. Villain Dr Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard) is given an explanation for his brain growth and power, which appears to come from examining the dead body of alien. There’s also a quick glimpse of what looks like a Yellow Lantern symbol and we also hear the Green Lantern oath spoken in full in the trailer and TV spots

After test pilot Hal Jordan is bequeathed a ring of infinite power from a dying alien, he becomes the first human to be accepted into the Green Lantern Corps; a group of warriors formed by different races from across the universe that maintain order and peace. Their latest threat is a new enemy known as the Parallax, capable of destroying entire worlds. With the Earth at risk of annihilation, Hal may be the key to defeating Parallax.

From director Martin Campbell, the film also stars Blake Lively, Angela Bassett and Tim Robbins.

The film will be released in 3D in the UK and US on June 17th.
