Marvel to publish Castle Graphic Novel

As many Castle fans will already have seen in the show’s third season finale, Richard Castle is getting a graphic novel of his very own but what some may not realise is that it is not just a plot line in the show, the graphic novel is REAL. Titled “Caste: Richard Castle’s Deadly Storm,” it will be cowritten by Brian Michael Bendis (Avengers, Ultimate Spider-Man) and Kelly Sue DeConnick (Captain America and The Secret Avengers), with artwork by Lan Medina (Fables) and Carlo Pagulayan (Planet Hulk) is responsible for the cover. The story itself as the title suggests will focus on the character of Derrick Storm, who unlike Castles other creation Nikki Heat (Her books are available here) has not yet seen his adventures published outside of the world in the seen the ABC series.  What does the man himself think of this news; “I am honoured and humbled to see Derrick Storm join the ranks of some of the greatest heroes of all-time,” Castle says in the press release. “Being a part of the Marvel family is a childhood fantasy come true for me.”

The 112 page, Castle: Richard Castle’s Deadly Storm will hit comic book shelves September 28th and if this is the type of cross promotion Disney had in mind when they brought Marvel then things certainly could get interesting for ABC’s other franchises, could shows like V and No Ordinary Family live on in a similar format? Only time will tell it seems but until then it seems that there is no stopping the Meta Castle crossover train!
