The Adventures of Tintin Teaser Trailer and Posters

Well, blistering-barnacles, with the release of a teaser trailer we finally get the chance to see a bit of footage for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn! You can watch below, or view it in QuickTime over at Apple.

There’s a fair bit of face punching, dog biting and plane crashing action in here, as well as a few shots of Captain Haddock and the Thompson twins. Tintin’s face isn’t revealed till the final few seconds.

Two posters have also been released, each localised for the UK and US.

Both show Tintin and his trusty dog Snowy, though similar to the trailer Tintin’s face is kept largely in the shadows. There’s also the warship, the Unicorn in the background, though strangely the UK poster has it in flames.

Based on elements of Hergé’s The Crab with the Golden Claws and The Secret of the Unicorn, the story of the movie will see Tintin purchase a model ship of the Unicorn, after which he and his friend Captain Haddock discover a hidden secret that has them embark on a journey for hidden treasure.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film marks his first foray into the world of motion capture and 3D. With the actors having fulfilled their motion capture duties back in 2009, the film has been left in the hands of Peter Jackson’s Weta Digital to polish up the animation.

Produced by Peter Jackson and written by Steven Moffat, Joe Cornish and Edger Wright, the film features Jaime Bell, Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

The Adventures of Tintin opens in the UK on October 26th, and in the US on December 23rd.
