Life’s Too Short is picked up by HBO

For those who are a regular on the convention circuit, you will remember Star Wars and Leprechaun actor Warwick Davies talking about plans for his new sitcom Life’s Too Short with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and The BBC. Well it appears that Mr Davies can now add HBO to that list as the American cable giant has announced that they plan to screen the series in 2012, making it the fourth time they have worked with Gervais and Merchant.

The series is set to air in the UK later this year and is an observational comedy that tells the story of Davies and his day to day life and struggles as he tries to make in the world of showbiz. The show itself is set to be similar in style to previous work from Gervais and Merchant and is based on an idea that Davies sent the pair several years ago and will not show the real Davies but rather an over the top and slightly more gregarious version of himself. The first season of the show is set to have six episodes and will features cameos from Johnny Depp, Steve Carell and Sting to name a few.

Life’s Too Short will be screened on BBC 2 later this year but in the meantime you can take a look a new trailer from the BBC below and see how many British celebrities you can spot!
