Torchwood: Miracle Day UK Air Date Announced

UK Fans can now breathe a sigh of relief, after the BBC finally announces the UK Air Date for Torchwood: Miracle Day:

Thursday 14th July at 9pm on BBC1.

Since the US Air Date was announced by Starz back in March, Fans of the Doctor Who spin off, created by former Doctor Who show-runner Russell T. Davies, expected the UK to have a similar air date. However, when the BBC released their programme information for Week 27 (2-8 July), Fans were left confused as Torchwood was nowhere to be found.

However, today, it has been announced by the BBC that Torchwood: Miracle Day will air six days after the US transmission date (Friday 8th July), and days after both Canada and Australia (who will both be showing Torchwood on Saturday 9th July).

There is an obvious problem with this, especially when it comes to the audience ratings: both from Online Downloads and Spoilers from the episode spilling out online after the US premiere. But we’ll just have to wait and see. British Fans are also likely to feel slightly cheated as the show was created and broadcast in the UK first and as such many feel that it should be shown here either first or certainly sooner than six days after the rest of the planet.

I will definitely be catching Torchwood: Miracle Day on BBC1 on July 14th – a channel change from Torchwood’s usual home of BBC2. And I am getting excited now we’ve only got about two weeks left to wait ^_^
