Starz decides to cancel Camelot

Camelot? More like Cancelot! Haaa! Right now I have got that out of my system. US cable network, Starz, have decided to go ahead and cancel the show following its first season after experiencing “significant production challenges”

Camelot, which has recently seen its first season finale air to over 1 million viewers, premiered to an audience of 1.13 Million viewers in April and managed to get the better of Syfy’s rival show, Merlin, on the night. With an initial demo rating of 0.5, Camelot was Starz’s highest rated and most-watched original series debut ever.

In a statement cited by The Hollywood Reporter, the company explains that.”Due to significant production challenges, Starz has decided not to exercise the option for subsequent seasons of Camelot with our production partners GK-tv, Octagon Films and Take 5 Productions.”

According to deadline.com, scheduling conflicts were a production problem faced by the drama, which stars Joseph Feinnes, Jamie Campbell Bower and Eva Green.
