Glee Season 3 News: 2 boys in and 1 boy out! 1 New Album!

As the days roll ever onward and we get closer to the return of Glee for its third season (Tuesday September 20th) news has emerged that will leave some Gleeks happy and others sad, as two of the shows male characters will be back and one will not be.

So in the long established tradition of breaking bad news before good, it seems that Gleeks will not be seeing the return of character Sam Evans as a full time character after actor Chad Overstreet’s contract was not renewed for the crucial series regular option. Whilst this may be a bit of a surprise for some considering the characters high profile storylines last season, this does not mean he is out of the show for good as he could still return as a guest star. What is interesting though is how this will affect other characters on the show as at the end of the previous season Sam was seen to be dating the character of Mercedes, right? So will the next season open with Mercedes being all blue about her lost love? Only time will tell on that but in the meantime it appears that this won’t be the last we hear of Chad’s voice as according to a recent tweet from the actor, he will be starting work on a new album very shortly after returning home from the Glee Live Tour.

Moving on then to the good news and after two seasons in semi series regular roles, actors Darren Criss (Blaine) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang) will become full-time series regulars when the new term starts for the show.

So what do you think of Sam saying goodbye? Are you excited by the news of Chad Overstreet’s album? Or are you excited by the chance to see more of Blaine and Mike? Leave your comments below!
