DC to launch ‘Uncharted’ comic series

Uncharted 3 By Adam Hughes

Computer generated adventure addict Nathan Drake will undoubtedly be a common talking point during this week’s San Diego Comic-Con. Not only for the showcasing and playable demo of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, but for the announcement of his very own DC published comic debut.

Issue one will launch directly into action, sending Nathan on a journey to the centre of the Earth as he attempts to locate the famously beautiful ‘Amber Room‘ dubbed, “The eighth wonder of the world.” With trouble in his tracks, Nathan and his life long partner Sully are sent on a whirlwind roller coaster ride full of energy and adrenaline as a race against time to seek the target is running out fast.

Developers Sony hooked up with DC to breath life into the characters with help from Superman artist Joshua Williamson and writer Francesco Francavilla (Detective Comics). The covers are said to be in the hands of Adam Hughes, possibly the worlds most popular cover illustrator working today.

Sneak preview posters designed by Adam based on Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception are been handed out free this week at San Diego Comic-Con, with the opportunity to have them signed by Adam Hughes himself on Friday and Sunday.

DC are set to release the series parallel to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, which is releaed for Sony Playstation 3 November 1st 2011.

Will the comic be a must have treasure, or one to keep in the vault ? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

This looks great, I wonder if there will be a special edition of the game with a comic included, there should be more comics based on games and vice versa.
