Catherine slips to 2012 for the UK

Back in July it was announced that Deep Silver would be distributing Atlus’ critically acclaimed Catherine across Europe for a release sometime this year. Now comes news from MCV that the game has now been delayed till the first quarter of 2012.

Strangely no reason has been given for the delay, though it might be possible that Deep Silver don’t want the game to be lost amid the bigger releases, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and Batman: Arkham City, particularly on the run up to Christmas,

The provocative puzzler was released in Japan in February, and the US in July. While the game is currently still scheduled to be released by QV Software in Australia next month, it is unknown at this time if that has also been affected.

The game has players take control of Vincent Brooks, who starts having dreams where he has to climb blocks, while in the real world he’s racked with guilt after cheating on his girlfriend Katherine with the young blonde Catherine.

To get more of an idea of what you’re missing out on, feel free to check out our review of Catherine, or have a look at the US trailer below.

Has this delay now persuaded you to import Catherine, or will you still hold out for the UK release?
