London MCM Expo Cosplay News

Canti on a display mannequin at a London MCM ExpoThere’s been a lot of movement in the MCM Cosplay Team camp. Here’s just a taste of what cosplayers can get stuck in with this October.

You may have seen costumes such as Ilpala‘s Optimus Prime and Canti, or the Valkyrie donated to the UK by Goldy the Japanese master robot costume maker adorning the Totally Cosplay Mannequins at recent events. The MCM Cosplay Team want to open up the Totally Cosplay area to YOU, giving cosplayers the opportunity to display their great works! Showcase your favourite costumes to attendees, as well as explaining what was involved in making them – it is a great opportunity for another outing for your best costume. To be considered, email providing a photograph of the costume and what days you will be attending. Also needed are progress photographs and details of your experience making it – the trials, costs, and especially those fantastic moments as it all comes together! You have until SATURDAY 08/10/2011 so get cracking!

The MCM Cosplay Team will be running a general entry Masquerade on the Saturday as well as the EuroCosplay Championship Finals, in addition to the Masquerade in the MCM Theatre on the Sunday. No other event in the country allows you to showcase your costume to an audience this large, and with literally thousands of cosplayers in attendance it is the most prestigious national event to be seen at and the most challenging to win. Applications for the October 2011 London MCM Expo Masquerade will open from 25/09/2011. On that date a form will be published on the London Expo website for you to complete if you wish to take part, including changes such as bought costumes now being allowed for performance entries.
