Being Human Series Four prequel released, old friends lost and new blood gained.

The BBC have released a prequel video for the upcoming fourth season of their supernatural drama, Being Human.

The almost six minute long prequel video shows us what appears to be the turning point in the life of new character, Hal (Damien Molony), a vampire who has been alive for almost 500 years.

The BBC have also revealed that Sinead Keenan, who played the werewolf Nina in the hit show, has decided that “her Being Human journey had come to an end after series 3.”

This comes after Aidan Turner (Mitchell) left the show in the third series, and Russell Tovey (George) has announced his departure too

Losing three of the show’s main characters means that Lenora Crichlow, who plays the loveable ghost Annie, will be the last member of the original group standing.

Joining her will be Tom (Michael Socha), the son of McNair and a werewolf whom we were first acquainted with in the show’s third series, and the vampire Hal.

According to the show’s writer, Toby Whithouse, the character of Tom has been, “Promoted from semi-regular to lead.” The character of George appears to take a backseat until his departure.

Another interesting new development to look forward to will be the addition of a fourth type of supernatural creature, however no details have been given on what the creature will be just yet.

With all of the cast changes and developments around the show, it looks like there’s a lot to be excited for in the upcoming series of Being Human. No date has been given yet, but be sure to check out the recently released prequel video below, and the full written introduction to the series by Toby Whithouse on the BBC’s website here.

As usual, remember to let us know what you think!
