Star Wars Burgers now available in a Cantina near you?!

With the first of the upcoming 3D re-releases of the Star Wars movies almost upon us, you’d be forgiven for thinking that you had seen it all when it came to Star Wars branded products, but then there is always one company willing to go that extra insane mile. And for proof of this all we have to do is look no further than the French-Belgian fast food chain, Quick and their special Star Wars themed burgers?!

That is right, why settle for the time honoured tradition of a black Darth Vader themed burger box, when you could serve your food in a BLACK bun instead! And if the thought of that did not make you wretch then you will probably enjoy the rest of the burger which is described as being, “two minced beef patties topped with one slice of melted pepper Cheddar cheese, pepper sauce, endives and rings of red pepper all between black-colored buns sprinkled with black pepper and poppy seeds.”.

The burger, called The Darth Vador (yes ‘Vador’, as that is what Darth Vader is known in France) is part of set of four burgers that form part of the chain’s promotion surrounding the upcoming 3D release of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. The remaining two burgers also celebrate characters made famous by the Sci Fi franchise and include, The Dark Burger (themed around Darth Maul and exactly the same as the Vader one but in a red bun) and The Jedi Burger (which uses Yoda to advertise it and for some reason is topped off with diced mozzarella cubes).

This promotion is available in participating Quick stores from January 31st – March 1st and applies to all but the Vader burger which will get an extra four days and thus end on March 5th and frankly you could not FORCE me to try these if you tried! Oh come on, you can’t tell me that you did not expect to see that joke used in this piece somewhere!

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace is released in Cinemas once again but this time in 3D February 10th 2012 by 20th Century Fox.

What do you think of the Star Wars Burgers? Will you be seeing the movie in 3D?  Add your thoughts in the comments below!
