Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of Final Fantasy to speak at MCM Midlands Comic Con

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the developer, director and producer behind the Final Fantasy series, will be attending the MCM Midlands Comic Con in Telford on February 18th to talk about his career and his latest project – the critically acclaimed The Last Story for the Nintendo Wii.

A legend in the video games industry, Sakaguchi is not only the father of the iconic Final Fantasy franchise, but has produced a host of top titles including Vagrant Story; Xenogears; Chrono Trigger and Kingdom Hearts. Having left Square Enix in 2002, Sakaguchi founded Mistwalker in 2004, developing games such as Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. The company’s latest title is The Last Story

As an epic tale that sees players take control of Zael and his band of mercenaries, together they explore and battle their way across Lazulis Island. However, they soon find themselves having to defend the island against invaders. See below for a trailer of the game.

Published by Nintendo, The Last Story is released in the UK on February 24th. Europe will also receive a limited edition version of the game, which will come in a steelbook case and include an art booklet as well as a 7-track CD, featuring music from the game’s composer Nobuo Uematsu.
