Korean Actor Lee Byun Hyun Praised by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

At the ‘Le Meridien Hotel’ in Taipei, Dwayne Johnson (better known as “The Rock“) was promoting his new movie ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ and met a few Korean journalists who asked him about Korean actor and co-Star in the ‘G.I.Joe’ movie, Lee Byun Hyun

He asked me before we began filming if there was a scene where he needed to take my shirt off. There weren’t any that I remembered, and I asked him why he was asking. He said that he had a scene where he had to take his off, and if I take mine off, it would make him look bad. I just laughed when I heard him say that.”

Showing his respect for the co-star, Dwayne continued, “I became close with Lee Byung Hun as we filmed ‘G.I. Joe 2′. It was a really great experience being able to meet him. He has strong presence when he walks into a room. He had my attention as soon I saw him. We ate together, and got along great. He is humble, he is confident, and plays his character well in the movie. I really liked the way he pulled off his action scenes and I was impressed with his acting skills.”

Lee Byun Hyun is better known for his role in Korean drama ‘Iris‘ and for his movies “The Good, The Bad, The Weird” in which he played The Bad, and as a man seeking revenge for his fiancé, going on a spree to find her killer in the extreme thriller “I Saw The Devil,” Byun Hyun showed true acting skill. Dwayne Johnson on the other hand started his career very differently, as a WWE Wrestler, under the name “The Rock,” and then moved on to act in movies such as “The Mummy Return” as the Scorpion King, the film adaption of the video game “Doom” and going for a different angle, showing he isn’t all muscles, playing the title role in “Tooth Fairy“.
