Resident Evil 6 Announcement Trailer

After the revelation that Capcom were indeed behind the No Hope Left marketing campaign, it led to speculation that it was all leading up to the announcement of the next game in their survival horror franchise, Resident Evil 6.

All the rumours proved to be true.

Capcom revealed the announcement of Resident Evil 6 with a mega three and a half minute trailer!

This is the official synopsis:

“It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision.

At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.”

From the trailer it appears that the game will feature two storylines running in tangent with each other, one from the point of view of Leon S. Kennedy at Tall Oaks, and another involving Chris Redfield in a (currently) unnamed city in China. It looks like it follow the same ‘over-the-shoulder’ action based scenario that Capcom implemented in the fourth and fifth instalments.

Resident Evil 6 is set to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on 20th November 2012.
