Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 versions announced!

Pokemon series director, Junichi Masuda, has announced that two new games will be coming out on the DS starting from June in Japan.

Titled Pokemon Black version 2 and Pokemon White version 2, the games appear to be direct sequels to the original Pokemon Black and White versions released on the DS in 2011 – this is speculation at this point however, as no official word has been given on the matter.

Speaking on Twitter, Masuda-san confirmed that the legendary Pokemon shown to represent Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 versions (pictured above) are called “Black Kyurem” and “White Kyurem.” This further adds to the assumption of a direct sequel as these versions of Kyurem didn’t exist in the original Black and White versions; it suggests that some kind of fusion takes place between the existing legendary Pokemon: Kyurem, and Reshiram or Zekrom.

The announcement for the games was made on the Japanese television show, Pokemon Smash.
No release date has been given for North America or Europe at this time.
