Later this year, Warner Home Video will release a monumental 31-disc Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection box set. It will contain all eight Harry Potter films on Blu-Ray and DVD, as well as Ultraviolet digital copies.
With beautiful foldout packaging, the limited and numbed box set will include over 37 hours of special features, including 5 hours worth of brand new content that has never been seen before.
It will also house rare collectables and memorabilia, such as a map of Hogwarts, concept art prints, catalogs of props and posters. More will be revealed as its release draws closer.
Of the films themselves, there are extended cuts of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The 3D versions of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 are also a part of the package.
Now, if you are a Harry Potter fan then there’s a high chance you already own all the films in some form, be it as single releases on DVD or Blu-Ray, or a previous box set. Having the 3D versions of Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 are a nice addition, but they are already available to buy separately. Likewise, the extended cuts of Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets have been released as Ultimate Editions, and it seems unfortunate that there are no extended versions for any of the other films. It may all depend on just how much you want to see the never before seen material and what exactly all the collectable memorabilia turns out to be. If you’ve been holding out for a definitive Harry Potter set, then this is probably what you’ve been waiting for.
The Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection is released in the UK later this year on September 10th. Will you be buying one?
