Joseph Gordon-Levitt hunts his future self in Looper Trailer

Sony Pictures have unveiled the trailer to the upcoming futuristic action thriller Looper.

Sony has been teasing the trailer with its own teasers the last few days, with snippets from the film’s writer and director, Rian Johnson, and its star Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The two had previously worked on Johnson’s directorial debut Brick.

Looper tells the story of Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a looper who has been hired by the mob to get rid of certain people. The difference being that his targets are people that have come from the future, and are sent 30 years into the past for their assassination. For Joe, it’s a job that pays well. But then the mob decides to “close the loop” by sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for elimination.

The wild time-travel premise is backed by a trailer that has a lot of shooting (note the unique weapon that Joe has), car crashes and pocket watches, though Willis himself remains quiet. Watch below, or if you prefer HD downloads then you can visit Apple by clicking here.

Co-starring Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels and Paul Dano, Looper is released in the UK and US on September 28th. Are you intrigued? Would you kill your future self if you found out that in 30 years time you’ll look like Bruce Willis?
