Danny Devito “The Lorax” Panel and Free Signing at MCM Expo!

Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is an upcoming Musical comedy, from the creators of Despicable Me, based on the much-loved children’s book by Dr. Seuss and we are pleased to announce that Danny DeVito (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, L.A. Confidential, Matilda), who plays the titular grumpy but charming orange Lorax will be attending the MCM Expo which takes place in London next week. The film is produced by Illumination Entertainment and was released in the United States by Universal Pictures on the 108th anniversary of Seuss’ birth. It is due to be released in the UK July 27th.

Danny DeVito will be part of a special “The Lorax” panel in association with Universal Pictures that will be held on Sunday 27th May (Time to be confirmed) as well as taking part in a limited time FREE promotional signing, during which he will be signing The Lorax film posters.

The movie is set in the walled city of Thneed-Ville, where everything is artificial and man made, a boy named Ted is madly in love with a girl named Audrey. Upon discovering that the thing she wants most in life is to see a real and natural tree, Ted seeks out the Once-ler, who lives outside of town in a barren wasteland. The Once-ler agrees to tell Ted about the trees if he listens to his story over multiple visits. Ted agrees, even after the mayor confronts the boy and pressures him to stay inside the town walls. Over the course of the film, Ted continues to sneak out of the mayor’s sight in his quest to learn more about the history of the trees and the story of how the Once-ler met The Lorax, who served as the guardian of the land .

The film is the fourth of Dr. Seuss‘ books to be adapted into a feature film. It builds on the book by expanding the story of Ted, the boy who visits the Once-ler and was unnamed in the book and 1972 animated television special. The main cast includes Danny DeVito as the Lorax, Zac Efron as Ted, and Ed Helms as the Once-ler. The film also contains some brand new characters including Audrey, voiced by Taylor Swift, Aloysius O’Hare, voiced by Rob Riggle, and Grammy Norma, voiced by Betty White.
