Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Trailer

Disney has released the first trailer to their 52nd animated feature film, Wreck-It Ralph.

A startlingly original idea from the Mouse House, the film tells the story of Ralph (John C. Reilly), the villain in his own arcade game Wreck-It Ralph. Feeling tired of doing the same thing for thirty years and being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer), the good guy star of their game, Ralph decides that he’s had enough of playing the bad guy. He abandons his own game and jumps into others in an effort to prove that he can be a hero.

The trailer has a lot of videogame nods and includes some iconic characters from the likes of Pac-Man, Street Fighter and Dungeon Keeper. It even throws in a general comment on videogames becoming violent and scary. Click play below and see how many videogame references you can spot.

Directed by Rich Moore (who has overseen episodes of The Simpsons and Futurama), and executive produced by Pixar’s John Lasseter, Wreck-It Ralph also features the voices of Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman. It opens in the US later this year on November 2nd and in the UK on February 15th 2013.
