Insomniac Games tease Fuse, their new IP

Insomniac Games, developers of the popular Ratchet & Clank and Resistance franchises, have teased a new IP that they have named Fuse. The announcement was made during founder Ted Price’s PAX Prime speech.

A website for the title has appeared, FuseGame.com, which links you to a page featuring a countdown that ends in roughly ten days, revealing its secrets on 12th September. On closer inspection, you can just make out the words “Overstrike Data Node” above the timer further enforcing the rumours that Fuse may be a reworking of Insomniac’s previously announced multi-platform title Overstrike. This isn’t surprising considering that there has been no news on Overstrike since it’s E3 2011 debut.

Although Insomniac has claimed that they are done with the Resistance series, you can’t help but notice the similarities in the Chimera and the robot featured in first screenshot for Fuse, as seen below:

It is clear that the animated style of Overstrike is long gone if Fuse is confirmed to be its reworking. Regardless, we’re excited to see what the team at Insomniac are preparing for us and will update you when information becomes available to us. In the meantime, let us know what you think of this new IP in the comments below.
