MCM Buzz Podcast Expo Announcements

We recently saw the first MCM Buzz Podcast in over five months and my goodness was there a lot to talk about. With the October MCM Expo now just a week away, here are all the latest guest announcements made during the Podcast.

Matt Smith, the current actor playing The Doctor in BBC’s Doctor Who will be taking part in a panel on the Friday of Expo at 4PM (time to be confirmed). He will also be doing a signing for the first 100 people on the Friday to buy the new Doctor Who DVD. A BBC requirement for Matt Smith attending was that people who wanted to see him could buy a ticket for just the Friday. As such, Friday only tickets will be available this year. Further guests from the sow will be attending to take part in the panel, but have not yet been announced.

A Hunted panel will be happening at 3PM on the Friday, which will include Adam Rayner who plays Aidan Marsh in the show.

At 6 PM on the Friday Robin Dunne and Billy Boyd will be taking part in a panel about the new film Space Milkshake, which will also include a special preview screening of the film.

The Eurocosplay Finals will be happening on the Saturday of the Expo weekend and will be the day’s last event on the main stage. Judges for the Eurocosplay include North American cosplayer RuffleButt (who will have a panel on the Sunday of the show), a so far unnamed South American/Brazillian male judge who has won multiple cosplay competitions and a Japanese male (also so far unnamed) who heads up a large part of the cosplay scene. There will be panels held by both the Eurocosplay judges and by the finalists

Memorabilia will be returning to the show this year. Unlike previously where entry to one event would allow you into the other after a set time, this year entering one event will allow you to enter the other event at whatever time you wish. Guests in the Memorobilia area will include James Cosmo and Miltos Yerolemou from Game of Thrones, Ian McNeice, Hattie Hayridge (Holly in Red Dwarf), Julian Glover from BBC’s Merlin and Cas Anvar, who is the voice of Altaiir in the Assassins Creed series.

Back to the Expo hall, on the Saturday there will be some exclusive guests and panels.

There will be a Haven panel with speakers including actors Lucas Bryant (who plays Nathan Wuornos) and Adam Copeland (who plays Dwight Hendrickson).

There will also be a Primeval: New World panel with Niall Matter (Evan Cross), Sara Canning (Dylan Weir) and Danny Rahim (Mac Rendell) from the show.

For any fans of Bioware, you’ll be pleased to hear that there will be a Bioware panel at 12noon on the Saturday, which will be run by Tully Ackland and Chris Priestley, who both head up parts of Bioware’s community team.

Hiroshi Matsuyama, President of CyberConnect2 (the developers of the Naruto games) will have a panel at 2PM on Saturday and will be signing at the Namco Bandai stand at the show.

Mass Effect 3 voice actors Alix Wilton Regan (Comm Specialist Samantha Traynor), Courtenay Taylor (Jack) and Ali Hillis (Dr. Liara T’Soni) will all be signing at the show.

There will be a panel about the film Cockneys VS Zombies.

The Walking Dead stars Jeffrey DeMunn (Dale Horvath) and Andrew Rothenberg (Jim) will be at the convention and doing signings.

For fans of Once Upon a Time, Tony Amendola (Marco/Geppetto) and Keegan Connor Tracy (Mother Superior) will be at the show. Tony Amendola also happens to be in the show Continuum (as Edouard Kagame), which will have a panel over the weekend. The panel will also feature Roger R Cross who plays Travis Verta.

A Eureka panel with Jaime Paglia (Co Creator, Writer, Exec Producer) and Tembi Locke (Grace Monroe) and Colin Ferguson (Jack Carter) is also set to take place over the weekend.

There will be a Warehouse 13 panel during the weekend featuring Genelle Williams (Leena) and CCH Pounder (Irene).

Talented voice actor Liam O Brien, best known for his roles as Garra in Naruto, Jushiro Ukitake in Bleach and voices in Guild Wars 2, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Darksiders II, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Saints Row: The Third, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, will be signing at the convention.

The Comic Village lineup was announced during the podcast. A full list of those attending can be found by clicking here.

Tickets for the Saturday night party are now completely sold out.

Genki Gear’s MCM Expo exclusive t-shirts are still available to order and collect at the show.

Lastly, VidFestUK was announced. Designed to celebrate those that create and watch online videos, there will be guests including Simon’s Cat, Rooster Teeth, TomSka and Eddsworld. They will be showing off new content and giving talks on topics around the work they do.
