Fist of Awesome Competition

Around a month ago MCM Buzz interviewed indie game developer Nicoll Hunt about his upcoming sentient hand, bear punching, time travelling, lumberjack simulator Fist of Awesome (give the interview a read here). He provides a great insight into the game’s history, influences and PETA’s opinion of punching velociraptors.

The game has passed its minimum funding goal on Kickstarter but is currently aiming for a stretch goal of £12,000 to be able to create a special GRIZZLY EDITION of the game which will feature an extended version of the story with additional playable characters and a local multiplayer mode included too. To celebrate this final stretch of the Kickstarter we’ve teamed up with Nicoll to be able to offer readers the opportunity to be an NPC in the game, captive in a Human Zoo.

To win, all you have to do is email your answer to the question below to by Friday 14th December (hint: The answer can be found in our interview with Nicoll Hunt).

Which of the following inspired the humour of Fist of Awesome?

A) South Park

B) Red Dwarf

C) Family Guy

D) The Vicar of Dibley

When asked why people should back the game on Kickstarter, Nicoll said, “For many reasons. 1) It helps keep the dream of scrolling beat-em-ups alive. 2) Cool rewards like soundtracks and t-shirts. 3) You could be in the game and PUNCH A VELOCIRAPTOR IN THE FACE. 4) It makes you appear incredibly attractive to the opposite (or same) sex.”

The Fist of Awesome Kickstarter ends on December 12th at 4am, meaning that the time you have left to back them is running out. Backer rewards range from digital copies of the game, a mention in the credits all the way up to being a playable character in the game. Are you interested in the game? Have you already backed it on Kickstarter? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
