It’s a pair’o’docs!

The first images from a read through of the script for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special were revealed by the BBC.

The images feature none other than recently confirmed to be returning 10th Doctor, David Tennant, alongside the current 11th incarnation of the famous time lord played by Matt Smith.

The pair are seen pictured at the read through for the upcoming special episode which will begin filming later this week.

Jenna-Louise Coleman who plays new companion, Clara “Oswin” Oswald, and actress Joanna Page are also pictured at the read through.

It was announced on Saturday that David Tennant would be returning to the show for a one off episode alongside Billie Piper who played his former companion, Rose Tyler. The episode will be shot in 3D and is also expected to be screened in cinemas the same time that it is broadcast.

Doctor Who first aired on the BBC on the 23rd of November, 1963. A quick look at the calendar for this year shows that November the 23rd falls on Saturday, which is typically the day on which new Doctor Who episodes are broadcast. Based on these facts we can make an educated guess that the special episode featuring the two Time Lords will air on Saturday the 23rd of November this year.

Of course this is just speculation at the moment, but are you excited about the upcoming anniversary? Let us know in the comments below!
