MCM London Comic Con is proud to announce the launch of its new MCM eSports zone, which will debut at May’s show with an inaugural League of Legends Tournament.

Online heats held in the run-up to the 24 – 26 May event will see four elite teams of League of Legends players fight their way out of a pool of 32 teams, before battling for the MCM eSports crown in front of a packed audience at the MCM London Comic Con itself.

“The e-sport phenomenon is set to explode in the UK and we want MCM London Comic Con’s 70,000 plus visitors to be in on the ground floor,” said show co-organiser Paul Miley. “So far the response has been terrific. Initial team sign-ups for the tournament were filled within an hour of the news going live, so we have expanded the competition to make room for additional teams.”

So do you think you have what it takes to win on the battlefield? If so then join in and prove to your fellow players that you’re the best! You can register at Backdrop Gaming where you can also find the rules for the tournament. Registration closes Friday 3 May (all participants must be aged 17 or higher). If you’ve any questions about the tournament then you can contact the e-sports team at

Both the qualifying heats and matches at the MCM London Comic Con will be live streamed on the MCM eSports Twitch.TV feed.

Over the next few weeks, further announcements will be made in regards to prizes and rewards, so keep an eye on the MCM Twitter and Facebook feeds to stay updated!

The MCM London Comic Con takes place during the weekend of 24 – 26 May at the ExCel Centre, Royal Victoria Dock. Thinking of attending? Then click here for tickets.
