BlazBlue anime details emerge

Blazblue Alter MemoryFollowing the news that an anime adaptation of BlazBlue had been given the greenlight, an official site has materialised revealing a teaser image and a cast list.

Based on the beat-em-up franchise by Arc System Works, the anime will be largely based on the first game in the series, Calamity Trigger, and will be called BlazBlue Alter Memory.

In December 2199, as everyone is celebrating the end of the year and the start of the new one, word spreads that the SS-class rebel Ragna the Bloodedge, also known as the “Grim Reaper”, has appeared in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. As one of the most powerful and also most wanted criminals, he has an incredibly large bounty on his head. With Ragna intending to destroy the system controlling the world, an array of unrivalled fighters all converge at Kagutsuchi to collect the bounty.

The voice cast from the video games will be involved with the anime and is as follows:

Toshimichi Mori, the man behind the BlazBlue franchise, is overseeing the anime adaptation, which is to be directed by Hideki Tachibana and Seiji Mizushima at teamKG and Hoods Entertainment.

BlazBlue Alter Memory is set to air in Japan this autumn.
