New Teaser for Disney’s Frozen

Frozen Anna-Elsa

Considering Disney’s latest film is out this year we haven’t heard much news on it. In fact the only way you would have known that it was coming was through faint whispers trickling through the Internet. But at last we finally have a teaser for Frozen.

Kristen Bell stars as Anna, a young woman who sets out to reunite with her sister Elsa. The sister fled after setting off a dangerous curse that trapped the land in perpetual winter. Anna is helped along the way by a rugged mountain man (Jonathan Groff) and his trusted steed, the reindeer Sven. A typical Disney romance might also be on the cards with Prince Hans played by Santino Fontana, who is currently charming audiences on Broadway.

So what’s Anna like? “She’s not a good fighter, she doesn’t have good posture, she’s not very elegant, and she’s constantly putting her foot in her mouth,” says Kristen. “But she’s a good person and she’s utterly determined.

Screenwriter Jennifer Lee (Wreck-it Ralph) added, “She doesn’t have any superpowers, But Anna is one of these ordinary people doing an extraordinary thing.

Despite the possibility of a Disney prince sweeping Anna off her feet, Lee assures us that the relationship between Anna and her sister is the true heart of this story.

“That’s such an important part of this, Two sisters torn apart by a big family secret.”

Though some of us still wished that Disney could set aside time for some 2D animated projects, it has to be said that their latest films have caught up to Pixar’s high standards in CG animation. The character design and overall look of Frozen does look very reminiscent of Tangled so it’s safe to say that they’ve finally found their style in the world of CG.

The teaser itself is also evidence that Disney are still the masters of funny and heart-felt animation. Frozen is released 6th December in the UK and is directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee.
