Cabin in the Woods in Orlando – Universal Studios’ New Attraction

The Cabin in the Woods co-writer and director Drew Goddard has recently teamed up with Universal Studios to create a new attraction for their theme park in Orlando, Florida based on his film.

The attraction will take the form of a maze, with visitors finding themselves in the role of “new hire” at the Facility, enabling them to experience scenes from the film in new ways, as well as learning about some of the mythology behind the story.

[Spoiler Alert]

According to Michael Aiello of the Universal Orlando Entertainment Team,

We are building the cabin completely. You’re going to walk through a forest to get there. You’re going into the cabin. You’re going to go into the cube cells. We’re literally taking everything we can in the film and giving you a kind of best-of montage of the film with this kind of linking story. You’re going to be in the control room when merman attacks.

We know that Goddard is currently helping to script the experience, though it’s unknown whether any of the original actors will be involved in creating voice recordings for it.

The Cabin in the Woods attraction will feature as part of the 23rd Annual Halloween Horror Nights. Tickets can be purchased from the Halloween Horror Nights website.
