Batman: Arkham Origins Multiplayer Trailer Released

Have you ever been playing any of the previous Batman Arkham installments and had the urge to play as the thug whose nose you’re breaking? Well now is your chance.

Following  yesterday’s announcement that online multiplayer is coming to Warner Bros Montreal’s Batman: Arkham Origins a new trailer has been released, and it does not disappoint. The mode allows for players to face off as three elite members of Bane or the Joker’s gang, all whilst another two gamers control Batman and Robin trying to take down both crews. The multiplayer offers up more new gadgets and features than Batman’s utility belt. In the trailer alone there appear to be a huge variety of takedown methods, player-controlled missiles, some kind of plantable shield or EMP and of course one of the more exciting additions, the ability to play as Bane or the Joker themselves. The legendary villains are available for a limited time in the game mode as reinforcements to turn the tide against the cape-clad heroes.

The Joker and his gang are packing some serious firepower, and make up.

The game mode itself is developed by multiplayer innovators Splash Damage (Brink, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory), and is coming to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC version of Arkham Origins, however it is not in development for the Wii U. The trailer looks great and this new gameplay option is exactly the type of thing that Arkham Origins is exhibiting that could make it stand out even over its award-winning, cape-soaring, vent-creeping predecessors.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be released for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on the 25th of October 2013.
