Bayonetta: Bloody Fate Anime Adaptation to Arrive this November

Bayonetta Bloody Fate (Bayonetta Character Background)

Platinum Games’ Bayonetta video game is to receive an anime film adaptation to be produced by the animation studio Gonzo.

Titled Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, it will open in Japan on 23 November and will see a limited release in just ten movie theatres, running for two weeks only. That this announcement comes around two months before its release would suggest that the film is most likely already close to completion.

The film is directed by Fuminori Kizaki, of Afro Samurai fame, with the screenplay written by Mitsutaka Hirota. Mai of Avex Entertainment will be recording a theme song to accompany the film. The voice cast for the anime is as follows:

Bayonetta – Atsuko Tanaka

Jeanne – Mie Sonosaki

Luka – Daisuke Namikawa

Cereza – Miyuki Sawashiro

Rodin – Genda Tessho

Enzo – Wataru Takagi

Balder – Norio Wakamoto

A 90 second trailer has been uploaded on the official site, featuring some of the characters from the game as well as Bayonetta blasting away at angels. You can view the trailer below.

The film’s official Twitter account reveals that there will be a stand at the Tokyo Game Show this weekend where fans can find out more.
