Call of Duty 2014 Championships Announced

Call of Duty Championship

The 2014 Call of Duty World Championships have been announced. This epic tournament aims to give gamers across the globe a chance for their clan to become the best players on the planet.

Last year, the all-American squad from eSports team Fariko Impact became the Call of Duty World Champions after a last-minute clutch from Envyus to win a share of $400,000 and ultimate bragging rights. After 2013 Fariko Impact will go into this year with the aim of retaining their title on Treyarch’s newest competitive game, Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Europe’s best hope for Call of Duty world domination this year is Epsilon eSports who last year made it to 6th place and also conquered the Cologne qualifying rounds. Their COD team has recently experienced a team reshuffle to include former TCM player Ryan “Flux” Oldfield and ex-Vitality player Tom “Tommey” Trewren. Flux recently placed first with the rest of his squad during the Insomnia i50 Call of Duty: Ghosts cup whilst Tommey was a finalist in last year’s COD Championship. Their extensive experience at such a high level will make them assets to the newly formed Epsilon team making them well placed to bring home the title.

London will play host this year to the European qualifying round of the tournament from 28th February to 2nd March. For your viewing pleasure the event is due to be broadcast online via Xbox Live and Major League Gaming.
