Spooked – Felicia Day and Bryan Singer Comedy Web Series

Spooked

What happens when Felicia Day and Bryan Singer decide to work together on a web series? Hilarious comedy – check. Crazy antics – check. Supernatural weird stuff – check. The result? Well, it’s sort of like a live-action, modern-day version of Scooby Doo, but without the dog, and with even more added awesome.

The recently released trailer for Day and Singer’s “Spooked” follows a team of hapless young investigators who travel around in a great big van seeking out the strange and spooky. Viewers are told that of the country’s 350 available ghost hunters, the Paranormal Investigation Team – or P.I.T. – are the cheapest. If what follows is anything to go by, it seems that when it comes to paranormal investigation, you pretty much get what you pay for. Check it out:

The series stars Julian Curtis (Captured), Ashley Johnson (The Killing), Neil Grayston (Eureka), Derek Mio (Greek) and Shyloh Oostwald (In Time), and will be the first full-length, half-hour comedy show to feature on Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry channel. Said Day, “This space is a personal passion of mine, and I’m excited for the show to be on Geek & Sundry, to set a precedent for many series to come in the future.”

According to USA Today, the pilot episode features a poltergeist who is attempting to ruin his daughter’s upcoming marriage. It’s director, Richard Martin, cited the relationship between brother and sister Connor (Curtis) and Piper (Oostwald) as one of the show’s key draws, along with its comedy elements:

“We always set out to make a comedy with heart. During the development process, we spent a lot of time making it a show that was multi-layered with a dynamic team of characters that you wanted to root for, fun moments and easter eggs for pop-culture fans, as well as building in mythology that will unfold throughout the season.”

Spooked is set to premiere on YouTube and Hulu on Wednesday 4th June.
