Yoshiki Extends First Ever Classical World Tour

YOSHIKIEmbarking on his first ever classical world tour this year, legendary X-Japan star and international rock icon Yoshiki has now announced four additional concert dates in Bangkok, Tapei, Tokyo and Osaka. Best known as the frontman of renowned rock band X-Japan, Yoshiki is a drummer, songwriter and classically trained pianist. His current tour follows the release of Yoshiki Classical, a solo album of original classical songs which debuted at number 1 on the iTunes Classical Music Chart in 10 different countries, as well as reaching the top 10 in four others.

Yoshiki’s past projects have included composing a theme song and conducting the Super World Orchestra at the World Expo opening ceremony in 2005, and recording a classical album produced by George Martin and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to his musical success, he has inspired both a Hello Kitty product range, Yoshikitty, and a comic-book superhero created by Stan Lee. In 2010, he founded the Yoshiki Foundation America, a non-profit organisation that donates to a range of charities, including those supporting Japanese earthquake victims.

The classical world tour, which began in California on 25th April, covers North America, Europe and Asia, culminating in Yoshiki’s native Japan. On 21st of May, the tour hit European shores, and will be reaching the UK on Wednesday 29th May with a performance at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Full tour dates are listed below.
