Please Look After This Bear: New Paddington Movie Trailer

Following the release of a short teaser last month, Studiocanal has today released a new trailer for its upcoming Paddington Bear movie. Adapted from Michael Bond‘s classic children’s book series, Paddington will be directed by The Mighty Boosh‘s Paul King, from a screenplay written by King in collaboration with Hamish McColl (Mr Bean’s HolidayJohnny English Reborn) and Emma Thompson.

Apparently set in modern-day London, the trailer sees the hapless bear (voiced by Colin Firth) attempting to navigate the Underground, escalators, and the Brown family bathroom, with some characteristically catastrophic consequences. Mr Brown is played by Hugh Bonneville, whose attempt to explain his change in situation to his home insurers is rather less than successful The rest of the family also put in a very brief appearance around the kitchen table, with Sally Hawkins (Made in DagenhamBlue JasmineGodzilla) playing Mrs Brown, Madeleine Harris as Judy, Samuel Joslin as Jonathan and Julie Walters as Mrs Bird. Check it out:

Peter Capaldi, Jim BroadbentTim Downie (The King’s Speech) and Nicole Kidman will also star, respectively, as neighbours Mr Curry and Mr Gruber, “intrepid English explorer” Montgomery Clyde, and Natural History Museum Director and taxidermist Millicent. David Heyman (GravityHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) will act as producer.

Paddington will be arriving in the UK from deepest, darkest Peru on 28th November.
