Disney’s The Descendants unveils costumes and set pics emerge

It has been a while since we have heard anything concrete about the forthcoming Disney Channel original movie, Descendants, centred on the offspring of well-known Disney characters. But now, out of the blue, we have a whole load of pictures and images from the project that is due for release next year.

The movie itself tells the story of the Belle’s and Adam’s (aka The Beast) son, Prince Ben, who as part of his first royal proclamation offers the children of well-known Disney villians a chance at redemption by allowing them to attend a prep school alongside the children of other familiar Disney characters.

Disneys Descendants CastThe first image that has been released is a cast shot featuring four of the young characters in their costumes. These are Jay, Carlos, Mal and Evvie, the children of villians Jafar (Aladdin), Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmations), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) and The Evil Queen (Snow White), respectively.

As if that wasn’t enough, when the filming moved out of the studio and into Victoria, British Columbia and transformed the area into Belle’s and Adam’s castle, plenty of photographers were on hand to capture the moment. Here are a few of the images captured by Crystal Maxwell who happened to be working at the nearby Premier Suites and managed to capture some great behind the scenes images. The images (see below and click to enlarge) feature a first look at Belle and Adam (Beauty and The Beast) and Disney fans will recognise that Belle is played by Once Upon A Time alumni Keegan Connor Tracy, aka the Blue Fairy. The next images feature Belle and Adam’s son, Ben (Mitchell Hope), in a carriage, taking part in what seems to be a procession of some kind. He is joined by Mal (Dove Cameron) suggesting that she could perhaps be the love interest for the character.

From the looks of it, the production team are trying to stay true to the essence of the original characters whilst trying to create some new iconic looks for their children. One thing is certain: when it eventually airs on the Disney Channel next year, this movie is sure to put Disney fans of all ages under its spell.
