More Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Secret Bases Footage

A new Japanese gameplay trailer for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has appeared online, showing extended footage of the upcoming games’ Secret Bases.

Though the text and voiceover are in Japanese only, the clip gives us our first good look at how the updated Secret Bases will look and work. The video below shows player characters having fun on a slide, using a colour-changing lamp, and speaking, battling and apparently having their photograph taken with visiting trainers. It also gives us a glimpse of what Secret Bases will look like from the outside, and at the decoration process.

Other interesting items to appear in the trailer are laptops, a jukebox, a blackboard, a spinning globe (reminiscent of that usually found in the Global Trade Station) and a couple of Pokémon-shaped televisions. These are not shown in use, so we can’t yet be certain as to whether they will be functional or purely decorative, but the fact that computers are present in every one of the Secret Bases shown seems to suggest that they at least will have a purpose – perhaps allowing players to change their party Pokémon before battling in their own custom gyms.
