Second UK representative for EuroCosplay 2014 final announced!

With time ticking away and the 2014 EuroCosplay final edging closer with each passing day, today saw the announcement of the second UK representative for this year’s final.

The representative was announced for the first time as part of the Cosplay Masquerade at MCM Manchester Comic Con and the north of England came out in force to support the contenders. The contest, which took place in the MCM Theatre, featured a total of 45 entrants and was judged by veteran cosplayers Sephirayne and J-Po.

When describing the entries to the event, judge J-Po commented that, “There was a wide variety of skills shown and as a result there was some truly fantastic cosplay on display and yet Manchester did the cosplay community proud.” In the end however there could only be one winner of the coveted second EuroCosplay place and that honour was awarded to Sarah Notley and her World of Warcraft Blood Elf Paladin Redemption armour costume.

When asked how she felt about winning, Sarah replied, “It is amazing, it still has not sunk in yet.” The costume, her second, took over 350 hours to make and she faced various challenges, including using Worbla for the first time and also handwriting all of the many pages of her glyph book.

Sarah will now join fellow UK qualifier Lauren in representing the UK at the EuroCosplay final this October at the MCM London Comic Con event.
