Disney’s Frozen to continue… as a book series

Anna & Elsa All Hail the Queen 9780736432849If you still can’t get enough of Disney’s Frozen then you’ll be happy to know that the story will continue, not as a film, but as a chapter-book series for young readers.

Publisher Random House have announced that they will be releasing a book series set in the same world as Frozen that follows Anna and Elsa as they get to know more about each other. The first two will be released from 6 January 2015 and are titled Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen and Anna & Elsa #2: Memory and Magic.

The third book is currently penned for a release in March 2015. Random House intend to release three or four books a year.

Written by Erica David, she has worked on licensed spin-off storybooks for How to Train Your Dragon, The Legend of Korra and Mr. Peabody & Sherman.

The synopsis for All Hail the Queen:

“Princess Anna, Queen Elsa, Olaf the snowman, and the rest of the stars from Disney Frozen are back in an all-new magical chapter book series that is perfect for girls ages 6 to 9. Now that the castle gates are open, Anna and Elsa are thrilled to be finally getting to know their kingdom. Anna bubbles with enthusiasm for all the things to do and the people to meet in Arendelle, and Elsa loves using her magic to help the town. But sometimes even a queen needs a day off.”

Random House hope to attract a fan base similar to its other Disney spin-off series, Never Girls, which follows the adventures of four friends that are whisked away to Neverland.

“We have seen our Disney Never Girls series fill a real niche in the chapter book market,” said Random House children’s division president Barbara Marcus. “With the momentum for Frozen only continuing to grow, we knew this was the perfect focus for this new series.”
