New Parasyte anime assigned opening song by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Fans of Japanese gore, horror and anime would have heard the news about the much loved manga series “Kiseiju” (aka: Parasyte) getting its own anime, and with it means a whole array of amazing music from much loved Japanese musicians. One of the first to be announced has been the band Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas with their upcoming release “Let Me Hear” being picked up for the opening of the new series. The band revealed news of the new single during their live performance at Studio Coast, with a limited edition release of the song available from 7th January 2015, which will include two other new tracks.

Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas are a screamo/digital hardcore band consisting of members So, Minami, Sxun, Taiki, Tomonori and Kei. Formed in 2008 they have had their music featured in the game Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 as well as the anime Gyakkyō Burai Kaiji: Hakairoku-hen and Hunter X Hunter Reboot.

As for the anime Parasyte, the story revolves around a 17-year-old teen named Shinichi Izumi who lives with his parents in a quiet neighbourhood in Tokyo. One night, worm-like aliens called Parasites invade Earth, taking over humans by entering through their ears or noses. One Parasite attempts to crawl into Shinichi’s ear while he sleeps, but Shinichi is wearing headphones, so it nestles into his arm instead. From that point things get strange and gory.

Parasyte will also see two feature length live action movie adaptations for 2014 and 2015. Check out the trailers below for the live action movie “Kiseijū“, in theatres in Japan on 29th November 2014, and the anime adaptation “Kiseijū: Sei no Kakuritsu” ( Parasyte: Probability of Survival ), which begins in October 2014. If the manga is anything to go by then we could be in for a weird yet wonderful collection of new cosplays in the future!
