What’s on at MCM London Comic Con – DK Books

DK_MCMLondonComicCon_BlogVisualDK Books are pretty well-known here in the UK for publishing a range of reference books, but at MCM London Comic Con this October, you’ll have the chance to get familiar with some of their geekiest properties, as well as to meet some great authors and take part in an exclusive competition.

Many people are familiar with DK from their many Star Wars guides and novels, while others know the company best through BradyGames, the arm of DK that publishes gaming-related content. Whatever your nerdy interests, these big-name publishers will be hoping to cater to them this October, with a mix of sci-fi, superheroes and classic video games.

On Saturday 25th October, the authors of Tomb Raider and the Ten Thousand Immortals, Dan Abnett and Nic Vincent, will be signing copies of their new book. Also, on Sunday 26th October, Marvel comics editor Alan Cowshill will be signing Marvel Comics: 75 Years of Cover Art.

Throughout the weekend, there will also be an exclusive opportunity to peruse some spreads from the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: 100 Scenes. Alternatively, if you’re looking for things to do, then why not take part in a couple of DK’s competitions? Prizes up for grabs include an original, signed drawing of The Hulk, made by Marvel’s own Adi Granov. Prints of cross-sections of famous Star Wars crafts such as the Millennium Falcon and Luke’s Landspeeder are being given out on Sunday. One lucky fan will also get to suggest one Star Wars fact to go in DK’s upcoming Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know book, due to be published next spring, along with a credit in the book itself.

DK Books will be placed at stand no. 781 all weekend, where all of the above signings and competitions will be taking place.
