In Your Hands – get closer for an unusual co-op gaming experience

The usual purpose of two-player games is to create long-standing feuds between friends that can only be settled by one more game. The friendship slowly erodes into a pit filled with contentious hate and the gloom is only parted when the game is switched off. Bleary-eyed as the red mist clears, friendship is restored until the next battle.

In Your Hands flips the competitiveness of two-player games on its head by using the power of touch to create a superhuman experience. The controller – a simple device with conductive buttons – relies on the two players to hold hands to be able to play games…together.

Based on the idea that Brits are the least touchy-feely people in the world, In Your Hands has been created by Wieden + Kennedy London using Makey Makey to encourage social contact. Making its debut to a buzzing crowd at WIRED 2014 Next Generation, the exhibit will be touring the country at other conventions.
