The Delta Episode: Deoxys vs Mega Rayquaza in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Global_Pok_monORAS_Nov_002As the hype builds for the upcoming Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games, the latest teaser to be released by the Pokémon Company International reveals a brand new story called The Delta Episode.

This exciting new plot will “thrust Trainers into a quest to save the world” after scientists at the Mossdeep Space Centre discover an asteroid hurtling towards the planet. With Team Magma and Team Aqua attacking the facility, however, the researchers become powerless to prevent the catastrophe until the gangs have been dispersed. Meanwhile, an epic showdown between Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza and DNA Pokémon Deoxys is brewing in space which looks set to be totally stunning. Able to take on multiple forms (Normal, Attack, Defence and Speed) Deoxys makes quite the formidable foe, but when the fate of Hoenn hangs in the balance, it’s imperative that Mega Rayquaza comes out victorious.

Zinnia_Amaryllis_Lyris_Amalia_Tristana_300dpiIt’s not entirely desperate though: there will, as ever, be friends on hand to help players to restore peace and balance to the region. Hoenn Champion Steven and Sootopolis City Gym Leader Wallace both offer information essential to help stop the asteroid. The games will also introduce a new character, Zinnia, “a mysterious girl rumoured to possess the key to the fate of the world”. Zinnia can Mega Evolve her Salamence through the use of a Mega Anklet set with a Key Stone – an interesting alternative to the bracelets we’ve seen so far.

The video also reveals some of the other legendary Pokémon that players will be able to encounter via Mirage Spots while using Soar, including Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, Cresselia and Heatran. Which Pokémon appear will vary according to which version of the game you choose. The Legendary Titans Regirock, Regice, Registeel and Regigigas will also be putting in an appearance, and can be discovered by deciphering ancient messages scattered across Hoenn.
