Fox renews Sleepy Hollow for a third season

Sleepy Hollow (Tempus Fugit)Fox have renewed the supernatural series Sleepy Hollow for a third season, which will consist of 18 episodes.

Co-created by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Phillip Iscove and Len Wiseman, the series stars Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, resurrected in 21st Century New York, and Nicole Beharie as Abbie Mills, a sheriff detective in the small town of Sleepy Hollow. Together they team up to stop the Headless Horseman.

Showrunner Mark Goffman has also been replaced with Clifton Campbell, creator of the crime series The Glades. Goffman left the show earlier this month after signing with CBS Studios.

“I had the pleasure of working with Clifton on both The Glades and White Collar,” said Fox entertainment president, David Madden. “He is an excellent producer, and we can’t wait to see what this team has in store for season three.”

“Sleepy Hollow is truly inventive television,” added Madden. “The talented producers – along with the brilliant cast, anchored by Nicole and Tom, have created a fantastic world that brings ‘history’ to life with compelling and vibrant storytelling.”

In an interview with TVLine after the season two finale, which saw the death of a major character, Mison said that a third season “would definitely be a reboot”, and that “there are still lots of exciting stories to tell.”
