Kung Fu Panda 3 Concept Art Revealed

Welcome to Pandaland! EW.com has revealed concept art for DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3 in an interview with co-directors Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni and production designer Raymond Zibach. Click on all images for larger versions.

The film will heavily feature the panda village glimpsed at the end of Kung Fu Panda 2. The look if the village in the new film is influenced by a 10-day trip to Sichuan, China where they saw real-life pandas and Mount Qingcheng covered in mist and rustic architecture.

“We used that as a jumping off point for what you saw at the very end of the second film, and then we kind of kept drawing on that experience,” says Raymond Zibach.

In Kung Fu Panda 3, Po (Jack Black) reunites with his father Li (Bryan Cranston) and his fellow pandas. The film will also feature the series’ first supernatural villain, Kai (JK Simmons). It is due for release in January 2016.
