Storm Watch In Latest X-Men: Apocalypse Set Pic

The magic of special FX is revealed in the latest photo posted by Bryan Singer from the set of X-Men: Apocalypse. On set it may look like Storm (Alexandra Shipp) is paying tribute to those polystyrene rocks from classic Star Trek, but thanks to Simulcam technology – developed by James Cameron for Avatar – we can instantly see what the final shot, complete with CG backdrops, will look like in the final film (well, an approximation anyway).

“Storm watches over #1983 #Cairo via the magic of real time #simulcam,” is director Bryan Singer’s caption.

X-Men: Apocalypse, starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, is set for release in the UK on 19 May 2016.
